Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-10-15

Fireroad is a speedometer app. Use it to read your speed, keep your eyes on the road, and ride within the law. That's most of it.

Using Fireroad means agreeing to these terms. Fireroad is sold through the App Store, so Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as well. Where these terms say more, these terms apply.

Ride safely

Fireroad is a GPS estimate of your speed. It is not your motorcycle's speedometer, and it is not a legal or certified measurement. You are responsible for your speed, for obeying speed limits and traffic laws, and for riding safely.

GPS speed can lag, drift, or drop out, under trees, in canyons, in tunnels, and at low speed. The signal dot and the dash on the gauge tell you when to trust the number less. Set up the app before you ride. Don't operate your phone while the bike is moving.

The weather line and sun times are forecasts and calculations, not guarantees. Rain can arrive earlier than forecast and the sun sets behind ridges before it sets on paper. Plan for that.

What you're buying

Fireroad is a one-time purchase on the App Store. There is no subscription and nothing to buy inside the app. The purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use Fireroad on iPhones you own or control, under the App Store's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app, except where the law says we can't stop you.

Your data

Fireroad has no accounts and no server of ours. What the app does with your location is in the privacy policy. The short version: it stays on your phone, except coordinates rounded to about 1 km that go to Apple Weather for the forecast.

Apple Weather and Apple Music

Weather comes from Apple Weather and is subject to Apple's terms. Now Playing works with the Music app only. Both can change or stop working if Apple changes those services, and we may update or remove either feature.

Updates and changes

We may update the app, change features, or stop offering it. We may change these terms; the current version is always on this page with the date above. If you keep using Fireroad after a change, you agree to the new terms.

The legal small print

Fireroad is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate and reliable, but we can't promise it is free of bugs, that GPS will always be available, or that the number on the screen is exact. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim related to the app is capped at the amount you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

If you have a problem, email us first and we'll try to sort it out. If that doesn't resolve it, disputes go to a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
